Every year, thousands of Joint Entrance Examination applications are rejected due to incorrect photograph and signature formats. Follow this strict guide to ensure your registration is accepted.
1 Register on the Official Portal
All JEE applications start on the official recruitment portal. Ensure you are on the correct, government-operated website.
Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in NEVER share your login credentials, OTP, or payment details with third parties. JEE will never call you asking for these.
2 Upload Photograph
Strict Photo Rules for JEE
- File size: 10KB – 200KB
- Background: white
- Recent passport-size COLOUR photograph with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background.
- JPG/JPEG format only. Must be clearly legible.
- Live photograph will also be captured at the time of filling the application form (webcam or mobile QR scan).
- NTA reserves the right for verification of candidate's photograph. Update Aadhaar Card with recent photo.
3 Upload Signature
Strict Signature Rules for JEE
- File size: 4KB – 30KB
- Ink color: blue or_black
- JPG/JPEG format. Must be clearly legible.
- Candidate must upload his/her own signature. Uploading someone else's signature is Unfair Means (UFM).
4 Review & Submit Application
- Double-check every field — name spelling, DOB, category, photo, and signature.
- Take a screenshot / printout of the confirmation page with your registration ID.
- Save the payment receipt PDF. Most boards send confirmation via email / SMS.
