Which formula should I use?
Different educational boards calculate percentages differently. Using the wrong multiplier can lead to discrepancies during your final Document Verification (DV) stage.
CBSE (Class 10/12)
The CBSE officially mandates multiplying your CGPA by 9.5. Example: 8.4 CGPA → 79.80%.
Standard Degrees
Many central and state universities simply multiply the CGPA by 10. Always check your transcript's reverse side.
AICTE / Engineering
Technical universities often use: (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. Note: requires CGPA ≥ 0.75.

Never Round Up Your Percentage

If your university transcript provides both actual marks and a CGPA, you must always calculate your percentage using the Actual Marks ÷ Total Marks × 100 formula, rather than relying on the CGPA multiplier.
Beware of Non-10-Point Scales
