The Document Upload Guide
Every year, thousands of India Post Gramin Dak Sevak applications are rejected due to incorrect photograph and signature formats. Follow this strict guide to ensure your registration is accepted.
1 Register on the Official Portal
All GDS applications start on the official recruitment portal. Ensure you are on the correct, government-operated website.
Visit indiapost.gov.in NEVER share your login credentials, OTP, or payment details with third parties. GDS will never call you asking for these.
2 Upload Photograph
Strict Photo Rules for GDS
- File size: 30KB – 100KB
- Background: white
- JPG/JPEG format only. Recent passport-size colour photograph.
- Aspect ratio 4:5 (recommended 320×400 px). DPI: 72 to 150.
- Face must occupy 70–80% of the image, centred and clearly visible. No shadows or red-eye.
- Plain white or light-coloured background. No sunglasses, caps or hats.
- Avoid uploading scanned photos or selfies. Photo must be clear, well-lit and in focus.
3 Upload Signature
Strict Signature Rules for GDS
- File size: 20KB – 100KB
- Ink color: blue or_black
- JPG/JPEG format only. Scanned signature on white paper with black or blue ink pen.
- Aspect ratio 5:2 (recommended 300×120 px). DPI: 72 to 150.
- Signature must occupy 70–80% of the image. No shadows, borders or extra marks.
- Do not upload typed or digital text as signature. Must be clear, not shaky, not pixelated.
- Applications with blurred or miniature signatures will be rejected.
4 Review & Submit Application
- Double-check every field — name spelling, DOB, category, photo, and signature.
- Take a screenshot / printout of the confirmation page with your registration ID.
- Save the payment receipt PDF. Most boards send confirmation via email / SMS.
