Official Signature Specifications
- File size: 3KB – 300KB
- Ink color: blue or_black
- JPEG/JPG format. Aspect ratio (height:width) must be 1:R where R is between 2.75 and 3.75.
- Signature must cover 70–80% of the image area.
- Black or dark blue ink only. Initials, ALL CAPITALS, or illegible signatures are not allowed.
- Signature must be signed horizontally and must not extend outside the signature box.

Why is my signature being rejected?
Signatures are often rejected if in wrong ink color (e.g., blue when black is required), on lined paper, or over 300KB. Our tool fixes the file size.
Common GATE (General) Signature Upload Errors
"File size exceeds 300KB"
The GATE portal blocks uploads above 300KB. Our compressor automatically reduces to 3–300KB.
"Signature not in blue or_black ink"
Many applicants sign in blue or pencil. GATE explicitly requires blue or_black ink on plain white paper.
